scrapping again!

I have a fair amount of yard work done this spring.  Now it is colder outside, and I am wanting to be inside and comfy.  I have been working on a couple of scrapbook pages, so thought I would share them.
I realized that all of the layouts I had done in our family album were of Tony.  Granted, in 1985 I didn't take nearly as many photos as I do now, but still...  The second layout here is of my horses.  My mare, Star, had a foal in 1985.  What fun to have a little foal to watch play and grow!

Saturday, May 1 is National Scrapbook Day.  I'm planning on going to Scobey to Connie's and spend the day making scrapbook pages and visiting with good friends.  I am working on sorting photos, picking out layout ideas and making up page kits to work on there.  I hope that by the time I get home, I will have a few pages done, and maybe Tony will be at least 9 months old in our albums.  I need to get back in the groove so the creating process comes easier and faster.

She's Growing Up

Natalie will be 5 months old on April 16. Earlier this week Amy & Natalie came up to stay with us and spend some time with Tony. Tony occasionally stays here at the farm when they are working long hours in the fields. Natalie is starting to wake up earlier in the mornings, so they have started feeding her rice cereal to fill her up a bit more. Here she has been eating cereal for four days so far.

Road Trip For the Girls

April 8 - 10 Amy, Natalie and I went to Billings.  My sister, Judy, flew into town from Kansas City to visit her son Paul, his wife, Abbie and their daughter Zoe.  We hadn't met Zoe yet, and the rest of them had yet to meet Natalie.  We had a great weekend!  We stayed with Super-Hostess, Rhonda, my sister-in-law.  Thursday we drove down and did some shopping.  Rhonda and Natalie bonded while Amy & I made a run to Kohl's.  Bo, the cockapoo, had just come from the groomer, and Natlie loved him!
Friday we did some more shopping and then had a great family dinner.  Judy, Paul, Abbie, & Zoe, and Mike & Debra joined us for supper.  Rhonda served a wonderful meal, the visiting was great, but the babies were a little tired and out of sync for their naps.  While one was sleeping, the other was up, then too tired to get acquainted with each other.  Rhonda's parents, Ron & Mary Ann came over for dessert.    I was enjoying the visiting so much that I forgot to get the camera out for some pictures.  I wish I would have done that.

There was a giant teddy bear who was just the right size for Natalie to cuddle up with.
Saturday morning we went over to Paul & Abbie's house.  The girls had both napped and were ready to play.    The second cousins were ready to meet face to face!
We had lunch at a great Thai restaurant, then it was time to say good-bye, do our last minute shopping at Costco, and hit the road for the trip back home.
Paul, Abbie & Zoe
Judy & I each have 2 sons, and are happy to now have daughters!   We both had to wait many years for our girls.  GRANDdaughters are just the icing on the cake!

Easter 2010

After church we went to Ft. Peck to spend the day at Tony & Amy's.  Warren's parents, Harvey & Gladys, his sister and brother-in-law, Joan & Keith Unger were also there.  Amy made ham balls, which are a holiday tradition from her family - very tasty!  Everyone really enjoyed them, along with sides, salads and dessert.  Craig called and it was so nice to visit on the phone.  We sure miss Craig & Lindsay.

Natalie liked the bow on her Easter basket as much as the contents.

Is this a good thing?
I think so!
Papa thought Daddy might like Miss Dolly for his nap too.

A little retro-fit & new home

Once the bin arrived to the home yard, Tony used the crane to lift the bin off the trailer and put it by the shop.

They removed the door to the bin, and replaced the panels with solid ones.

They added another ring around the bottom to increase the capacity of the bin.

Once the ring was finished, it was time to move it over to the hopper bottom.
lining up the holes to bolt it together.
Before the work day was over, the bin already had grain in it.

Friday we moved a grain bin from another farm yard, to its new location, here at home atop a Fast FAB hopper bottom.

and Away...
Onto the trailer,
leaving the yard where it has sat for many, many years,
and down the road to its new home.

Natalie's new achievements

Yesterday Natalie starting making a funny face by sucking her lips in.

This video was taken at the end of the day. She hadn't taken good naps all day and was pretty tired, but did roll over and chat a little bit. Of course she talked up a storm when the camera was off!
